The Catching Machine
Mark Williams — Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), Aotearoa New Zealand
"I've been juggling for 28 years. The last 8 of which have been focused on hoops."
Mark Williams — known across the juggling world as The Catching Machine — is a hoop juggler from Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) in Aotearoa New Zealand. A Māori artist with 28 years of juggling behind him, he has spent the last eight dedicated to hoops.
His style is built on body rolls and hoop tricks woven seamlessly into juggling patterns — circles travelling over shoulders, around the neck, and back into the air as if they never meant to land. His work moves between theatre stages, festivals, and the Auckland shoreline: wherever there is room to throw a circle.
